Materials Engineering M.S.
The M.S. in Materials Engineering program creatively combines opportunities for intellectual growth with hands-on experience in engineering materials and processes. You'll study and develop materials with current technology, as well as look to the materials of the future.
Our graduates apply their knowledge of materials engineering to develop lighter and stronger cars and sports equipment, and their knowledge of electrical properties of materials to build faster and more powerful electronics, and much more. Because materials engineers must be experts in the performance, specification and manufacture of a wide variety of materials, they need knowledge from a range of scientific and engineering disciplines. A master's program provides this comprehensive background.

PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
You must first meet the following university requirements:
- Have a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Be in good academic standing at the last college or university attended
- Have satisfied one of the following conditions:
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in all undergraduate units
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in the last 60 semester/90 quarter units from all post-secondary institutions
- Hold an acceptable post-baccalaureate degree earned at a regionally accredited institution and:
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in all units attempted as an undergraduate, or
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in the last 60 semester/90 quarter units attempted from all post-secondary institutions attended.
