Master of Health Leadership and Management.

The Master of Health Management provides you with the essential knowledge, skills and attributes required for senior managerial roles in health service delivery. It aims to promote health leadership in areas of strategic planning, policy and decision making. There is an emphasis on understanding and meeting the challenges of safety and quality within current and emerging health service contexts. The objective is to develop judgement-ready practitioners who can impact health service issues and systems.

You will gain a deep understanding of the principles underpinning health systems and services, change management, financial management and health economics, evidence-informed decision and policy making, clinical governance and risk management, and innovation and improvement strategies. The Master of Health Management is tailored to either the Australian health care system or developing health care systems

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Applicants are required to have either:

  • An undergraduate degree in a field relevant to public health or health management (see list below) and two years of full-time professional or volunteer experience. This may also include equivalent professional experience acquired as part of a degree of 4 or more years duration (e.g. MBBS, MD)

OR

  • An undergraduate degree plus honours or postgraduate degree in a field relevant to public health or health management (see list below).

Examples of relevant fields include, but are not restricted to, medicine, nursing, allied health, health sciences, biomedical sciences, dentistry, sociology, behavioral and social sciences, psychology, marketing, human services, emergency services, environmental health, veterinary science, health administration, business, management, engineering, law, science, mathematics and statistics, economics, policy studies, and development studies.
