During your studies, your core units will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of key IT and computer-based systems areas. From your second term, you will begin to study units from your chosen major. You also have the choice of a minor that complements your major and career aspirations which reflect emerging fields and industry demands within the IT sector are available.

Decide what suits you with either a project or internship in your final year. If you choose the capstone project unit, you'll enhance your collaboration skills in the production of project management artefacts typically required of a small-scale commercial project appropriate to your major. Alternatively, the internship allows you to gain real-world experience before you graduate and multiply your professional networks.

Sydney

CQUniversity Sydney is located on Kent Street in the heart of the city. It is easily accessible being just a five-minute walk to Town Hall station. With over 3000 students, CQUniversity Sydney is one of the university’s largest campuses. On campus, there are many study areas filled with lots of natural light, making it very conducive for self-study and group work. You can enjoy the diverse and vibrant campus life or take a short stroll to downtown amenities and attractions such as Darling Harbour. CQUniversity’s Townsville campus is located on the banks of the Ross Creek in the Townsville CBD and is home to over 1000 students. The campus is made up of two buildings – Building One established in NQ News House in 2015 and the new, purpose-built Building Two which opened in 2017. The campus boasts state of the art nursing and paramedic science labs, teaching spaces, study spaces and free parking.

Brisbane

CQUniversity Brisbane, located in the heart of the central business district, is a great place to study. The campus, refurbished in 2017, comprises nine floors of modern facilities and will offer you a fresh learning environment from which to pursue your academic interests. English Requirements:

If you were not born in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, or the United States of America you are required to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements set by the University.

Applicants are required to provide evidence of completion of:

• a secondary qualification (Year 11 or 12, or equivalent), or

• tertiary diploma level qualification, or

• bachelor level qualification study for a period of at least 2 years fulltime with a minimum overall GPA 4.0

completed within Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa, Ireland, or the United States of America, which will meet the English proficiency.

If you do not satisfy any of the above you will need to undertake an English language proficiency test and achieve the following scores as below.

• An International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) overall band score of at least 6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each subset; or

• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Requires 550 or better overall & minimum TWE score of 4.5 (Paper Based Test), or 75 or better overall and no score less than 17 (Internet Based Test); or

• Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) - Requires an overall score of 54 with no sub-score less than 46; or

• An Occupational English Test with Grades A or B only in each of the four components; or

• Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) - Score of 180 or above; or

• Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English - Score of 200 or above; or

• Combined Universities Language Test (CULT) - 70% with no individual component score of less than 15.

English test results remain valid for no more than two years between the final examination date and the date of commencement of study, and must appear on a single result certificate.
