Addiction Services AAS
This program is designed for students who plan to seek employment as a Substance Abuse and Behavioral Disorder Counselor. Upon completion of the program, students will be issued the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) Standardized Certificate of Completion of 350 hours of course work necessary to apply for the Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in New York State.

We support you in preparing you for great careers. This includes job search, internships, volunteer opportunities, as well as special career planning courses. The following courses are one credit career planning courses available to you during your educational journey.
If you plan on transferring from SUNY FMCC to a four-year college or university, we will support you throughout the process to ensure your success. This includes exploring colleges, selecting courses, connecting with four-year college representatives, and helping to complete applications. We encourage students to begin planning for transfer early in their academic career, preferably as soon as your first year.
PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
General Admission Requirements
Admission to Fulton-Montgomery Community College’s degree and certificate programs, with the exception of the General Education Certificate (0985), is open to any individual who has met one of the following criteria:
Possession of a High School Diploma from an accredited school as evidenced by an official high school transcript showing the graduation date.
General Equivalency Diploma (GED). A copy of the GED diploma and/or transcript will be accepted for admission.
A letter from the Superintendent of Schools documenting equivalency of instruction to a high school program. This refers to home-schooled students.
Possession of a previous college degree as evidenced by an official college transcript from a regionally accredited college or university or any institution in NYS authorized by the Board of Regents to confer degrees.
For associate programs at SUNY Fulton-Montgomery Community College, the minimum IELTS academic score required is 5.5. For certificate programs, there are no minimum IELTS requirements. The British Council notes that the college accepts IELTS scores for associate admissions.
