Project Management MBA

Corporations across the globe in industries such as telecommunications, construction, information technology, entertainment, healthcare, and defense are becoming increasingly project-based and project-team oriented. An MBA with a concentration in Project Management provides students with the skills necessary to lead complex projects for mid to large-size corporations. The program focuses on best practices for selecting, initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling, and closing projects. Students engage in the practical application of project management principles through team exercises and the use of current industry software.

Job creation in the project management field is very positive with growth rates being the highest in the healthcare industry. Project management roles are expected to increase by 30 percent in the healthcare industry (Hanover Report, 2013). Nationally, project management roles are expected to grow at a faster rate than the national average for all occupations (Hanover Report, 2013). The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that the job-growth rate will exceed 19 percent. The Hanover Report also estimated that the job growth rate for project managers and management analyst to exceed 29 percent (Hanover Report, 2013). The projected job growth rates of 19 percent and 29 percent represent a substantial increase and fully support the approval of the program. Lastly, the Hanover Report’s (2013) salary profile indicates that the average salaries of project managers range from $88,000 in Florida to $101,000 in Georgia with a national average of $92,000.

The typical project manager is responsible for managing a program that prepares individuals to apply quantitative and qualitative knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to manage projects in a wide range of fields and occupations. PSW Opportunity

Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.

Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).

STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

All India Senior Secondary Certificate (CSBE/CISCE) with C2 (6 pass with credit) or higher in 3 academic subjects or 50% (Pass Class)

Transcripts: Submit transcripts, mark sheets, diplomas or certificates from all post-secondary institutions attended, along with course descriptions and credit values. Certified word-for-word translations of all non-English credentials must be provided. Graduates or former students of Saint Leo University do not need to submit transcripts if they have been previously submitted and are on file.

Proof of English Language Proficiency

All international candidates for admission must prove English language proficiency by at least one of the following:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - minimum score of 79 iBT
International English Language Testing system (IELTS) - minimum score of 6.5
Pearson Test of English Academics (PTE A) - minimum score of 53
For transfer students, two semesters with grades of B or higher in English composition courses at regionally accredited post-secondary institutions in the United States
Successful completion of a NAFSA-recognized ESL program
Duolingo English Test - minimum score of 120
