Masters of Engineering in Engineering Management

Engineering Management is concerned with understanding the technology involved
in an engineering project and the management process through which the
technology is applied. This concentration deals with the dual role of the engineering
manager, both as a technologist and a manager. The object is to provide a
background in areas commonly needed in this role, such as organizational behavior,
finance, and accounting, in addition to industrial engineering expertise.
Students develop a program of study in conjunction with their advisor that contains
courses from the Saunders College of Business to complement the engineering
course work. Through the combination of business and management acumen with
technical expertise, engineering management degrees are designed to play a key
role in preparing the next generation of managers in the engineering sector.
The engineering management curriculum is a combination of engineering courses
from the industrial & systems engineering program and management courses.
