Occupational Therapy Doctorate
Effective Spring 2023 the Department of Occupational Therapy will offer an Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) pending final review and approval by Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) located at 6116 Executive Boulevard, Suite 200, North Bethesda, MD 20852-4929. The OTD program will be structured using a cohort model where students are admitted and progress through a sequenced program of study in an organized manner to support completion of the degree within three years of full time enrollment. This model fosters collaboration between students and faculty. The OTD degree is designed to prepare the student as an entry-level occupational therapist and seeks to support students as leaders and practitioner-scholars. The curriculum is designed using a variety of instructional methods to enhance content mastery. Although the majority of instruction will be face to face instruction, classes will include simulations, case presentations, involvement with the on campus faculty-run clinics and online instruction.

PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Applicants must meet the following admission requirements.
- U.S. bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, or the completion of a 4-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited and approved institution from a country outside of the U.S.
- A 2.5 institutional GPA (from the 0.0 - 4.0 U.S. grading scale) in the last degree completed, or a 2.5 GPA in the last two years of full-time study. Please note that individual program requirements may have a higher GPA requirement.
- Good academic standing at the last institution attended.
