Undergraduate Certificate in Commercial Photography

Our twelve-credit certificate allows students to experience the diverse subject of photography through the development of both technical and aesthetic skills. Designed for students of any major interested in using photography as a tool for visual communication.

Upon completion of the Commercial Photography Certificate, students should be able to:

Critically evaluate their own work and that of others.
Demonstrate conceptual and technical proficiency.
Read, analyze and discuss the field, demonstrating understanding of creative media as an area of constantly evolving aesthetic, cultural, economic and technological endeavor.
Maintain currency in industry trends and standards, and awareness of the role of individual practitioners in professional innovation and governance.

PSW Opportunity

Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.

Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).

STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Scores from an approved English language exam (we accept TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, Duolingo) Minimum scores required are as follows:

  • TOEFL - 55 ibt
  • IELTS (Academic) - 5.5 overall band score
  • Duolingo English Test (DET) - 90
  • PTE - 42
  • A score of 540 or higher on the SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section may be accepted in lieu of an approved English language exam.
