Graduate Diploma of Environment
The state of the environment and the emergence of issues, such as environmental degradation, pollution, climate change and species extinction, are some of the major concerns of our time. Human activities are largely behind these issues, but addressing the impacts of human activities is also key to protecting and managing the environment for future generations.
This course is an ideal introduction to environmental studies if you’re coming from a non-scientific background. You’ll undertake a wide selection of foundational and advanced environmental units to develop the core skills and knowledge you’ll need to investigate contemporary environmental challenges.
KEY FEATURES
- You’ll learn how to analyse environmental issues from the perspectives of at least one of the following core subject areas: environmental science, environmental management, sustainability, geography or climate change.
- You’ll be taught by world-leading senior academics at the forefront of their disciplines with expertise ranging from environmental planning to in-the-field environmental management.
- A strong focus on practical work, both in the field and in modern laboratories, will foster your problem-solving ability, collaboration skills and cutting-edge scientific research knowledge.
- This degree is accessible to those without prior scientific study at undergraduate level.
- Macquarie is one of only two universities to be given the top rating of five for environmental sciences research in all three Excellence for Australia (ERA) evaluations.
- Macquarie is ranked number one in Sydney for full-time employment in science (QILT, 2018).
