Utica University’s Center for Career Readiness gives you free, easy-to-use support from day one until after graduation—think 1-on-1 coaching to build your résumé, cover letter, and interview skills; career chats and workshops on topics like LinkedIn, job search strategy, and major exploration; access to Handshake for thousands of internships and jobs and events sign?ups; dedicated events such as career fairs, etiquette dinners, and networking with alumni and employers; a career mentor program with real Utica grads; and specialized help for international students, veterans, students with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ students. You can use all of this online or on campus—it’s designed to give you confidence and clear steps toward landing internships, jobs, or graduate school.

Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.

Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).

STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Official transcripts (mark sheets) of all secondary and post secondary academic work along with an explanation of the grading system (in English). NOTE: All years transcripts must be submitted.
Tests of English language proficiency, if English is not your first language. Utica University requires one of the following:
 

• Pearson Test of English (PTE), minimum score of 53; or
• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 550 written, 213 computer-based, 79-80 internet-based;
• International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0; or
• Duolingo English Test (DET) score of 100
