Bachelor of Education in Primary, 1-10 Health and Physical Education

In this course, you’ll graduate ready to work as a primary classroom teacher for Years 1 to 6 and also as a secondary teacher specializing in Health and Physical Education (HPE) up to Year 10.

You’ll study areas of the primary curriculum including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education and the Arts.

Throughout your degree, you will gain qualifications in coaching and officiating, with the opportunity to work with specialist coaches from a variety of sporting bodies such as the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA), Tennis Australia, Basketball WA, and Hockey WA.

You’ll design, deliver and lead a sports development program for juniors, either within a school or club and receive coaching accreditation in selected sports.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

For admission into Murdoch you must be able to provide evidence of competency in the English language. This is usually achieved through one of the following:

A scaled score of 50% or more in ATAR English, English Literature or English as a Second Language (or interstate equivalent).
An Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall score of 6.0 (with no band below 6.0) or equivalent scores for the Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic, TOEFL iBT or the Occupational English Test (OET).
Successful completion of a University enabling course (e.g. OnTrack, FlexiTrack).
A score of 140 or more in the Written English component of the STAT test
Successful completion of either a Diploma (AQF Level 5 or higher) OR two University-level units (AQF Level 7 or higher).
