Eastern Michigan University (ApplyBoard)

Ypsilanti , Michigan ,United States

Technology [Ph.D.]

Thank you for visiting us at the Ph.D. in Technology site. The program offers a diverse and interdisciplinary curriculum with state-of-the-art opportunities for students with a wide array of scholarly interests.

The Ph.D. in Technology curriculum at Eastern Michigan University prepares students to become leaders in a global environment where technology is growing exponentially across a broad spectrum of disciplines. Grounded by a solid foundation of Ph.D. core courses and Ph.D. research skills courses, students work with an adviser to customize a program of study to their unique interests. The many diverse graduate programs housed within the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology give students a great deal of flexibility when designing a program of study.

The Ph.D. in Technology curriculum is based on the following perspectives:

How science and society interact to shape technology applications;
How technology applications are managed and assessed in society;
How technical, organizational and human dimensions influence technology applications;
How technological practices, ethics, and technological literacy impact each other.
The program prepares graduates for increased responsibility in settings such as faculty positions in higher education, high-level management positions in government and industry, and careers in policy analysis and research.
