Zoo, Aquarium, and Animal Shelter Management (P.S.M.)
The Professional Science Master’s in Zoo, Aquarium and Animal Shelter Management is a unique opportunity to blend business skills and applied science with a specific focus on helping animal organizations. Our two-year P.S.M degree program focuses on experiential learning and development of skills in addition to academic learning. You will come into the program having a passion for helping animals and leave knowing how to implement specific strategies.
The majority of our students come from undergraduate science backgrounds such as Biology, Zoology, Wildlife Biology or Animal Science. Students with Psychology, Anthropology and Business degrees have also joined our ranks. Our students have diverse interests and the name of our program does not convey the great number of possible career options available to you graduating with this degree.
This is a dynamic and flexible degree that can be suited to your career goals. Take your experience with animals and become well-qualified to lead teams and influence outcomes in animal organizations.

Job Opportunity Potential

A micro-internship is a short-term project that can be completed within 5-40 hours, typically due within a week to a month. These projects require no on-boarding and can be completed by a college student with minimal instruction. These are important but low-risk tasks that can be completed either on-site or remotely.
Micro-internships are available year-round. It’s up to you to take advantage.

COMPLETE ASSIGNMENT – Once you’re selected, work directly with the company. Do your best to exceed their expectations as it could lead to a full-time role.
PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Colorado State University requires that proficiency in English language be demonstrated either by the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE academic tests prior to admission.
