Who is this programme designed for?

This programme is set at NQF level 4 and is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree in the UK. It is designed for international students who do not quite meet the academic grades and/or English level to start the first year of their degree but who do have a stronger academic profile than an Undergraduate Foundation Programme student. By successfully completing the International Year 1, a student is guaranteed progression* to Year 2 of the chosen undergraduate degree at Aston University.

What will I study?

This programme includes a range of academic modules specific to the progression degree. English language will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects, as well as being taught separately if you need additional support to develop your English language.

PSW Opportunity

  • 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
  • 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • from 4.5 IELTS or equivalent, with no single element less than 4.0, for 3-term UFP *

*Extended programs are available if you do not yet have the required English language level. This program lasts 4 terms and includes an English language module (ELM) followed by the 3 terms of Foundation required to apply for entry to the first year of your undergraduate degree.
