Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Advanced Medical Esthetics Practitioner
The Advanced Medical Esthetics Practitioner Graduate Certificate Program will prepare the graduate to work in the progressive field of medical esthetics. The curriculum will provide a strong foundation for the assessment of skin types, conditions, and the corresponding treatments for promoting and maintaining healthy skin utilizing advanced technology, products, and devices. Students will gain practical hands-on skills to work within related medical professions in a safe and competent manner within their scope of practice, from esthetics to nursing alongside a physician. Students will develop the knowledge and essential skills necessary to perform non-invasive procedures such as laser and light-energy treatments, a variety of chemical peels, hydro facials, microdermabrasion procedures, micro-needling, and derma planing procedures, as well as the fundamentals necessary to assist with the application of invasive procedures in a cosmetic medical setting, including a tour of our medical laboratories for an introduction to Phlebotomy for PRP treatments. The student will build expertise in delivering pre- and post-treatment care for special populations, including oncology patients. Graduates will be well-prepared to administer and retail cosmeceuticals and medical esthetic procedures. Additional training or certification to perform injectables is
required.

Eligibility for Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP):
Graduated from a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
Desire to stay in Canada temporarily for work.
Important Note:
Graduating from a DLI doesn't automatically qualify you for a PGWP.
Validity of PGWP:
Depends on the length of the study program or the expiry date of your passport, whichever comes first.
Duration of PGWP Based on Study Program Length:
Less than 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials): Not eligible for PGWP.
At least 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials), but less than 2 years: PGWP may be granted for the same length as the study program (e.g., a 9-month program results in a 9-month PGWP).
2 years or more: PGWP may be valid for 3 years.
Completion of Multiple Programs:
PGWP may combine the lengths of each program if:
Each program is PGWP eligible.
Each program is at least 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials) in length.
Important Restriction:
You cannot obtain a PGWP if you already had one after completing an earlier program of study.

At St. Clair College all courses are taught in English and to be successful in a program, your English communication, listening, comprehension, reading and writing skills must be at a level to meet the demands of your program.
General diploma programs admission requirement for international students are as follows:
Canada & USA: High school diploma and transcript, or equivalent.
British education system: General Certificate of Education showing passes in six (6) academic subjects (including English) at the Ordinary level.
Caribbean countries (English): High school diploma and transcript, or equivalent.
Philippines: High school diploma (Grade 12) and transcript, or equivalent, or High School diploma (Grade 10) and a minimum of one year Post-Secondary education and Transcript.
West Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, etc.): WAEC (or NECO) transcript with online verifying scratch card number and PIN required.
