Why choose this course?
Justice and human services combine two closely associated areas to offer a concentrated focus on community, support services, and the justice system. You will have the opportunity to explore child and family services, disability services, services to young people, and Indigenous health. You can choose either policy and governance or criminology and police as the major in the justice degree. More than 500 hours of placement are available in local, regional and overseas locations. During these placements, you will further develop your assessment and intervention skills and your own practice framework. There are also a number of opportunities for placement in the justice fields.
This course has a strong focus on contemporary social issues and will develop skills in casework and case management, social policy processes, group, and team practice skills, advanced communication, community work, and understanding families and relationships.

Gardens Point
Gardens Point campus is located in Brisbane's city centre, beside the Brisbane River and adjacent to the City Botanic Gardens and Queensland Parliament House. At the centre of the campus is the Old Government House which was built in 1862 and re-opened in 2009.The faculties of Business, Law, and Science and Engineering are based at this campus.
Kelvin Grove
Kelvin Grove campus hosts the faculties of Creative Industries, Education, and Health as well as the QUT International College and the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation.
