Diploma of Accounting
The Diploma of Accounting will build on your basic accounting knowledge to provide a solid foundation for your next career move. You will learn how to prepare corporate reports, manage and forecast budgets, prepare tax documentation, and analyse complex problems. Upon graduation, you will be ready to pursue an accounting support role or continue your studies to a higher level.
Course description
In the Diploma of Accounting students learn to prepare corporate reports, manage budgets, prepare tax documentation, apply solutions to a range of often complex problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. After successfully completing this course, students may wish to continue their studies with the Advanced Diploma of Accounting (FNS60217) or pathway to higher education.
International students in Australia who hold student visas are required to study full-time and on campus. Courses that are taught entirely online are only available to international students studying outside Australia or those in Australia who are not on a student visa. Online courses are not available to international students in Australia who hold a student visa.
Course structure
To obtain this qualification, students must satisfy the entry requirements and complete 11 units, including 6 core and 5 elective units. The full-time course will be delivered face-to-face in the classroom in one semester of 16-18 weeks duration. The part-time course will be delivered face-to-face in two semesters, each of 16-18 weeks duration. Two of the elective units are pre-requisite units carried forward from the FNS40615 Certificate IV in Accounting or FNS40215 Certificate IV in Bookkeeping.
