Is it for you?

Industrial engineers create solutions for processes, increasing productivity and managing people. You’ll learn how to develop and improve products, services, processes, information technology systems and work methods. You’ll also learn how to make manufacturing and service systems more productive, efficient, safe and cost-effective. With hands-on training, an opportunity to enrol in a paid co-op program, and an optional specialization in Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship, you’ll graduate ready to offer inventive solutions to real-world challenges.

If your program was less than 8 months

  •    You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.

If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

If your program was 2 years or more

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

If you completed more than 1 program

  •    You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

  • must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program-specific requirements.

Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:

  • English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
  • Advanced Functions (MHF4U)
  • Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U)
  • Physics (SPH4U)
  • Chemistry (SCH4U)
  • Note: The grades required in the subject prerequisites (normally 70%) will be determined subject to competition.
