Diploma in Indigenous Lands Governance
Kanawayihetaytan Askiy is a uniquely designed program that is focused on providing a broad range of topic areas specific to the management of lands and resources on federal reserve lands.
First Nation communities deal with complex land management issues including land use planning, legal issues such as the duty to consult, reserve land transactions, community-based land transactions, natural resource transactions, environmental management and compliance in addition to other issues.
The Kanawayihetaytan Askiy program has three options:
Kanawayihetaytan Askiy Certificate
Indigenous Lands Governance Diploma
Indigenous Resource Management Diploma
The diploma programs have two entry options. Students can now enter the diploma programs directly from high school or they can complete the Kanawayihetaytan Askiy certificate first before laddering into the diploma programs.
