The course provides first applied knowledge of counseling case management.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate a theoretical knowledge and first applied knowledge of counselling/psychotherapy case management
- Demonstrate advanced foundation knowledge of various psychodynamic and systemic couples and family therapy theoretical frameworks
- Demonstrate currency with the theory of psychoanalytic technique as it pertains to individual counselling, including applied knowledge of the concepts transference and countertransference
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of ethical frameworks for counselling
- Outline key principles of systemic theory to understanding couples and family functioning.

PSW Opportunity

Academic Admission requirements (Band 6)
Academic admission requirements (Band 6) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
- Bachelor degree; or
- Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.
English Language requirements (Band 4)
English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
- IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0);
- Bachelor degree from a country specified on the English Proficiency Bands page;
- Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent);
- Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience.
