The Master of Arts degree in Art Education provides opportunities for those with a background in art education to develop a focused competence in the visual arts, as well as an intellectual understanding of the history and current issues of the field of art education. Students study quantitative and qualitative approaches to research.

Job Opportunity Potential
Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Understand the breadth of theoretical, philosophical, historical and pedagogical issues in visual arts education instruction and curriculum.
- Articulate how issues that foster positive social change are inherent in the field and are constructed within wider frameworks of culture and society.
- Understand the purposes, functions and value of teaching art and design in PreK-12 educational settings.
- Understand and refine the application of art and general education research methodology, methods and procedures.
- Demonstrate advanced comprehension of self-identified topics through conducting detailed research investigation.
PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

All graduate applicants must obtain a minimum TOEFL-IBT score of 71 -or- a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 -or- a minimum PTE score of 48 -or- a minimum DET score of 100 for full-time academic admission, with the many exceptions for individual graduate programs:
