Graduate Certificate in Public Health

A Public Health degree is recognised globally as essential for a career in population health, including health promotion, policy formulation, research, and management of health programs. The Graduate Certificate in Public Health provides preparation for education, research, and service in aspects of public health. You will develop an understanding of public health domains in health promotion and the social determinants of health, communicable and non-communicable diseases, Indigenous health, and population health priorities and methods in a range of professional areas. Graduates come away with high-level skills that are applicable in real world situations in the professional practice of public health in community and/or health service settings in public and private sectors.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Applicants are required to have either: *An undergraduate degree in a field relevant to public health or health management (see list below)

  • and two years full-time professional or volunteer experience. This may also include equivalent professional experience acquired as part of a degree of 4 or more years duration (e.g. MBBS, MD)

OR

  • An honours or postgraduate degree in a field relevant to public health or health management (see list below)

Please note: The Graduate Certificate in Public Health cannot be completed on a full-time basis if students commence in Term 3. Students should apply to commence in Term 1 if they want to complete the program on a full-time basis.
