Express Preparation Program

The University of Newcastle College of International Education Express Preparation Program can be completed in one trimester and is designed to prepare international students for university study, both academically and socially. It provides access to over a hundred undergraduate degrees* offered by the University of Newcastle. This full-time program has been specifically designed to increase your English and academic skills, making sure you are undergraduate study ready.

* All CRICOS registered bachelor’s degree programs except the joint medical program.

Support Services
Our Student Services Team’s focus is to help students make the most of their time at the College and overcome any challenges they might face. Our team is available to meet to discuss any issues or concerns at any time, both face to face or online.

Academic Guidance
Our Student Experience Team works closely with the College’s academics to monitor students’ academic performance and help students manage their workload to successfully progress to their degree of choice. During the study term, students are also invited to attend regular Progress Consultations in which they can discuss their academic performance, raise concerns and provide feedback.

Student Engagement
A range of online and on campus events and workshops is held throughout the year and advertised via email. These interactive events aim to provide further support to students and connect them to our vibrant student community.

PSW Opportunity

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years
