UTS Foundation Studies (Extended)

If you’re an international student looking for a university preparation program, then UTS Foundation Studies is designed to help you take your next step into Australian university study. Our program provides pathway opportunities to most undergraduate degrees at UTS or to a UTS College diploma.

When you choose our Standard pathway, you’ll learn skills to prepare you for university study. Students who successfully complete the program will qualify for the first year of most undergraduate degrees at UTS, or for those who need more preparation, a UTS College diploma.

City Campus

Our campus is in the heart of Sydney's creative and digital precinct and alongside Sydney's Central Business District (CBD). UTS Insearch has four campuses in the Haymarket and Ultimo precinct: 187 Thomas Street (known as the Blue Building), 191 Thomas Street (known as CPSU House), 645 Harris Street (known as Mary Ann House) and 609 Harris Street.

PSW Opportunity

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

India

  • Year 12 ISC/CBSE with academic subjects 60% or Year 12 Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and West Bengal State Boards 60% or Year 12 other State Boards 65% (best 4 relevant academic subjects)

Nepal

  • Higher Secondary certificate (10 + 2) with 65%

Sri Lanka

  • Local A levels − 2 A Level passes 1 C grade and 1 S grade (Forecast results acceptable) or London A levels − 2 A Level passes 1 D grade and 1 E grade (Forecast results acceptable)

English

  • IELTS: 6.0 overall with 6.0 in writing or UTS Insearch AE4 with pass grade.
