MIT English for Academic Purpose (EAP1-2)

The GE English course focuses on the language skills you need to live, work, and travel in Australia. It will equip you with the tools to deal with everyday situations, improving your language skills in the four macro-skill areas—reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
We will support your English journey by:
Offering mentoring sessions where you can meet students studying one of our degree programs.
Organising fun-filled classes that focus on all General English skill areas, including reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and vocabulary, pronunciation, etc.
Offering extra-curricular activities, outings, and excursions, focusing on the language skills needed for the Australian context.
Providing access to online learning materials and tailored academic support
Providing a pathway to our EAP course and degree programs.
Campus Information
Melbourne Campus
Located in the centre of Melbourne Central Business District (CBD), the MIT Melbourne campus is the larger of the two campuses. Situated among shops, restaurants, banks, post offices and entertainment outlets, close to parks and gardens, hospitals, the State Library of Victoria and the Queen Victoria Market, and with easy access to public transport, the MIT Melbourne campus offers the perfect balance between study, work and play.
Sydney Campus
The MIT Sydney campus is located in Sydney’s Central Business District (CBD) next to Darling Harbour, one of the city’s largest shopping, food and entertainment precincts. Located right in the heart of the City on Sussex Street, easily accessible by train- we are a few minutes’ walk from Wynyard and Town Hall stations.

PSW Opportunity
Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
