Diploma of Information Technology

The Diploma of Information Technology is intended to provide students with foundation knowledge and understanding of the concepts and practices of information technology and information system. The course focuses on preparing students for the challenges of entry level IT careers in the modern business environment. It aims to provide students with the decision-making and critical analysis skills required and apply their professional knowledge in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). There is a particular emphasis on the development of professional and personal skills to underpin success in their chosen career.

The Diploma of Information Technology can be taken as a stand-alone course of 6 core subjects and 2 electives (one is IT elective and another one can be IT/General elective) within 2 trimesters. Alternatively, the Diploma can be used as an entry point and direct entry pathway to the Bachelor of Information Technology.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
