•    Work and world ready graduates.  We prepare our students through mandatory career development units, so you will be ready to enter the workforce during your co-operative placements, and through transferable World Ready Skills, so you are workforce ready when you graduate, regardless of your background before going to uni.
•    Real experience in your chosen profession. Every Co-op student completes a minimum of 60 days’ paid placement relevant to their course – contributing directly to course credits – either full time over one semester, part time over an extended period or in blocks embedded into your subjects. Co-op offers flexibility to suit our students’ commitments and course.
•    Co-design, co-develop and co-delivered with industry. We work with employers, industry, students and alumni to co-design, co-develop and co-deliver a comprehensive set of structured, assessed Co-operative Experiential Learning activities.

Campus Information

Mt Helen Campus (Ballarat)

Located 10 kilometres from the Ballarat city centre, the Mt Helen Campus offers both TAFE and higher education study options. It is set on 110 hectares of parkland and natural bushland surroundings. More than 4,500 students study on campus in state-of-the-art facilities which include specialist equipment essential to modern teaching and learning.

Gippsland Campus (Churchill)

Located in the town of Churchill, just two hours from Melbourne our Gippsland Campus provides higher education study options in a vibrant and engaging setting. It features modern architecture inside and out on 60 hectares of stunning grounds. Science, nursing, and midwifery labs have the very latest equipment and the leisure centre, golf course, art gallery, bistro and function areas provide a range of recreational opportunities.

Berwick Campus

The campus is located about 40km south east of the Melbourne CBD. It is only a five-minute walk from the Berwick Station on the metropolitan Pakenham train line, and adjacent to the Princes Freeway. The multi-level complex of modern architecturally-designed buildings is surrounded by spacious grounds with landscaped gardens and internal courtyards. It is also close to many facilities available at the attractive Berwick Village Centre.

PSW Opportunity

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor degrees are completed in between three and four years of study.
  • A bachelor course can be completed between two and three years of study, if a higher education diploma has been completed, or even quicker if a summer semester is studied.
  • Upon successful completion of an undergraduate degree, you will have the skills and knowledge needed to complete a Masters degree by course work, or similar research degree.

Academic entry requirements
Successful completion of Australian Year 12, or overseas equivalent.

English language requirements
Overall Academic IELTS band score of 6.0, with no band less than 6.0, or equivalent.
