BA (Hons) Sociology and Psychology

You’re passionate about understanding and addressing the issues that shape 21st century societies. You’re fascinated by the intricate workings on modern day communities and want to make a significant difference to the world around you, at local, national and international levels. This course will provide you with the transferable skills and expertise to be able to put your passion for social change into practice in a variety of fields. 

Bringing Sociology and Psychology together, you’ll get the best of both worlds by exploring the connections between both subjects. You will cover both traditional and cutting-edge aspects of sociology and psychology. As you progress through your studies, you will build a multi-dimensional understanding of how power is exercised and normalised at all levels of society.

PSW Opportunity

  • 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
  • 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

UCAS Points

  • 104

A Level

  • BCC - Requires Maths A level. Other A Levels may come from a selection of either Engineering or Technology, Science, Design, Computing, or Business related subjects. General studies/critical thinking not accepted.

BTEC

  • DMM -  Requires Extended Diploma in Engineering (DMM) to include Distinction in Further Maths

GCSE: Grade 4/C in English, Mathematics, and Science.

Foundation

  • Completion of the Standard XII Certificate with 50% or above
  • IELTS 4.5 with no less than 4.0 in any band

Undergraduate (year 1)

  • Completion of the Standard XII Certificate with 60-70% depending on points tariff required by the UH course. Some courses may require specific subjects
  • IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band for standard courses – some courses require higher
  • Standard XII English with 65% will also be accepted

Undergraduate (year 2/3)

  • Depending on qualifications and course - usually require 2/3 year Diploma post-Standard XII to be considered
  • IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band for standard courses – some courses require higher
