PhD Postgraduate research in Engineering
As a PhD student at the University of Wolverhampton, you are granted a wide range of unique opportunities to compliment your award with further skills and training. The School of Engineering, including your regular supervisors during research for your thesis and oral examination, will encourage and enable you to participate in conferences, skills development and research training, where you will network with postgraduates in and outside of the University and bolster your CV with relevant skills. Alumni possessing their award have previously pursued careers in academia, government, NGOs and the private sector among others, all work paths opened to you with the experience and qualifications this course provides.

PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for a research degree shall normally hold either:
- a first or upper second class honors degree, or
- a master’s degree, or
- evidence of prior practice or learning that is accepted by the Dean of Research.
Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English at least to the level of an IELTS score (or equivalent) of 7.0, with no individual element less than 6.0. The only exemption to this is for students who are not required to do so as per UKVI regulations.
For an applicant wishing to pursue a research degree in the areas of built environment, chemistry, computing and mathematics, computer science, or engineering, applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English at least to the level of an IELTS score of 6.5 (Writing - 6.5 and no less than 6.0 in any other component).
