Diploma of Information Technology (International)
The Diploma of Information Technology Standard Session can get you guaranteed* entry into the second year of a Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Business Information Systems or Bachelor of Computer Science at the University of Wollongong (UOW), or into the first year second session of the Bachelor of Technology at the University of Wollongong.
The course is designed for international students, studying in Australia.

In the Diploma of Information Technology Standard Session you will address these fundamental questions and gain the skills to be better prepared to succeed at your UOW bachelor. You’ll explore various disciplines, including programming, systems analysis, networks and web technologies and graduate with a Higher Education Diploma to help get you into the workforce while completing your bachelor's degree.
We offer three intakes a year, allowing you the flexibility to choose when you commence. The duration of this course is 12 months full-time, or part-time equivalent.

PSW Opportunity
Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
If you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident who has completed your high school education overseas, and it is comparable to an Australian Year 12 qualification you may be able to use your results to study at UOW College. UOW College converts all results to an ATAR, so to be considered for admission, each applicant needs to reach the current minimum ATAR required for the course they are applying for.
Please apply directly to UOW or UOW College. The friendly team at UOW Future Students can advise if your qualification is equivalent to a Year 12 qualification in Australia and can be considered for admission.
All approved English language proficiency tests must be undertaken within two years of your course commencement date. English language proficiency tests must be taken at a test centre, UOW does not accept online/at home versions of any of the tests listed below.
