Bachelor of Science in Education Occupational Education

There’s an old saying that experience is the best teacher. At Troy University, we believe your real-world experience and training are priceless. Do you dream of taking what you’ve learned and sharing your skills and knowledge with adults in a formal academic setting? TROY’s Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education can help you build onto your military training or associate/ technical degree from an accredited institution and further equip you with the tools you’ll need to succeed as a workforce development professional. (Your associate/technical degree must meet TROY’s general studies requirements.)

TROY’s bachelor’s in occupational education provides you with a pathway— using your specialized skills—to design, deliver and practice instructional programs for adults in a variety of professional and technical vocations including online education, workforce development, continuing education, higher education and military education. As you work your way toward your degree, you’ll learn how to develop curricula for adult learners, apply the knowledge related to your occupation to practical classroom situations and articulate a personal adult education teaching philosophy. You’ll also be able to discuss the different ways adults learn information and skills, and you’ll learn ways to assess your students’ needs, interests, motivations and capabilities.
