The fashion design and development major at Western Michigan University will prepare you for a career in apparel and soft goods design and development. Professionals in this field use their creative and technical skills to design products, develop patterns, monitor quality assurance and coordinate sourcing activities. This emphasis includes courses in apparel construction, pattern making, computer-aided design and merchandising.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
International students must demonstrate English proficiency to enter a degree-seeking program at Western Michigan University. Students who do not meet the minimum requirements to begin academic coursework may begin in the WMU Center for English Language and Culture for International Students (CELCIS).
