Bachelor of Science in Fashion Business Management

This degree will prepare you for a career in the increasingly business-oriented, global, and growing fashion industry. You’ll gain an understanding of the theoretical, practical, and ethical processes involved in textile and clothing design, production, distribution, and consumption. With a strong background in marketing, buying, selling, strategic planning, and management processes, you’ll be prepared to enter any facet of the fashion industry.

This unique, multi-disciplinary program is a joint initiative of the Faculty of ALES and the Alberta School of Business. Students are encouraged to participate in the ALES Internship Program or the School of Business Co-op Program.

PSW Opportunity

Eligibility for Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP):
Graduated from a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
Desire to stay in Canada temporarily for work.

Important Note:
Graduating from a DLI doesn't automatically qualify you for a PGWP.

Validity of PGWP:
Depends on the length of the study program or the expiry date of your passport, whichever comes first.

Duration of PGWP Based on Study Program Length:
Less than 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials): Not eligible for PGWP.
At least 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials), but less than 2 years: PGWP may be granted for the same length as the study program (e.g., a 9-month program results in a 9-month PGWP).
2 years or more: PGWP may be valid for 3 years.

Completion of Multiple Programs:
PGWP may combine the lengths of each program if:
Each program is PGWP eligible.
Each program is at least 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials) in length.

Important Restriction:
You cannot obtain a PGWP if you already had one after completing an earlier program of study.

India

CBSE and CISCE National Boards

Applicants completing Class XII

Applicants will be evaluated for Early Admission on presentation of the following:

  • Class X board results
  • Predicted Class XII grades

To obtain Final Admission and clear conditions:

  • Presenting final Class XII board results meeting the university's requirements and the information needed to verify them online
  • Applicants who were not offered Early Admission will be evaluated for Final Admission with final Class XII board results

Applicants who have already completed Class XII

Applicants will be evaluated for Final Admission based on the submission of final Class XII board results and the information needed to verify them online.

Indian State Boards

To be considered for a conditional offer, students will need to submit school results for Class XI showing a competitive average and course registration for Class XII, or Class XII mid-year results. The offer will become unconditional upon receipt of the final Class XII board results meeting the university's requirements

A score of at least 6.5 on the IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System) with no band less than 6.0. The University of Alberta does not accept IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR) results for admissions. If your IELTS Academic test results in one sitting do not meet our requirements, you can consider taking another IELTS Academic test, or consider other ways to meet our English language requirement.
