Social workers are concerned with psychosocial problems; their causes, their solutions and their human impacts. Social workers work with individuals, families, groups, organisations and communities, and are committed to social justice and human rights.
In their practice, social workers deal with diverse issues such as the personal experience of people in difficulty, working with them towards effecting appropriate change.
Practical Placements
As part of your degree, you will complete 1, 000 hours of practical placements in various industries. Our immersive placements are designed to equip you with the essential skills and hands-on knowledge required to establish effective working relationships and enhance your professional expertise in the field of social work.

Career opportunities
With further study, the two co-requisite majors in Architecture can lead to a career in architecture, urban design, architectural drafting, architectural education/academia or government policy. You could work in architectural and urban design practice, city and regional planning, government agencies, higher education, property development and architectural illustration and modelling.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this course you need to:
- achieve a minimum ATAR of 75 or equivalent as recognised by UWA
- demonstrate English language competence. Note that applicants presenting with IELTS require a score of 7.0 with no individual band less than 7.0; applicants presenting with iBT require a score of 94 overall with 27 for writing, 23 for speaking, and 24 for reading and listening; applicants presenting with PTE require a score of 70 with nothing below 70.
