Eligibility for Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP):
Graduated from a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
Desire to stay in Canada temporarily for work.

Important Note:
Graduating from a DLI doesn't automatically qualify you for a PGWP.

Validity of PGWP:
Depends on the length of the study program or the expiry date of your passport, whichever comes first.

Duration of PGWP Based on Study Program Length:
Less than 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials): Not eligible for PGWP.
At least 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials), but less than 2 years: PGWP may be granted for the same length as the study program (e.g., a 9-month program results in a 9-month PGWP).
2 years or more: PGWP may be valid for 3 years.

Completion of Multiple Programs:
PGWP may combine the lengths of each program if:
Each program is PGWP eligible.
Each program is at least 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials) in length.

Important Restriction:
You cannot obtain a PGWP if you already had one after completing an earlier program of study.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Admission Requirements for Direct Entry
Domestic and international students (including current Ontario university graduates, graduates, and out-of-province Canadian students) interested in applying to IBU may do so directly by completing an online application form.

*The GMAT requirement may be waived for applicants who have a minimum of 7+ years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of 3 years of executive/managerial experience.

**If you do not hold a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), or equivalent business degree, you may be required to complete two bridging courses.

Applicants whose first language is not English and who have completed fewer than 4 consecutive years of study in an English-speaking country must show evidence of their English language proficiency by providing an official English language proficiency certificate (i.e. TOEFL, IELTS or the Canadian Academic English Language Assessment – CAEL).

International Students
If the international student’s official language of instruction in the undergraduate degree (at least 3 years full-time) was English, and they achieved a minimum of a B+ GPA or equivalent and a GMAT score over 560, they will be required to submit an official foreign undergraduate degree transcript.

If the official language of instruction in the foreign undergraduate program was not English and the native language of the student is not English, proof of proficiency in English is required. Submission of the official transcript and results of the English Language Proficiency Test are required, as well as a minimum of a B+ GPA or equivalent and a GMAT score over 560.

International students will require a valid study permit.

Mature Students
Mature students will be able to apply directly to the MBA program. Their applications will be considered individually, and they may need to complete prerequisite subjects.

Applicants who do not meet the minimum admission requirements and do not have an undergraduate degree but show potential for success in graduate-level study, will be considered on a case-by-case basis. However, extensive work experience and volunteer experience at a managerial level is expected.

Applicants must meet the standard admission requirements of proof of proficiency in English and achieve a GMAT score over 560, and may be assessed for experience and performance in a number of education/training courses.

Applicants must provide all application materials and a minimum 3-5 page essay outlining their desire to earn an MBA in Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Transfer Students
Applicants may apply for admission based on previous studies completed in good standing at an accredited postsecondary university.

Applicants must meet the standard admission requirements as well as a minimum of a B+ GPA or equivalent, and a GMAT score over 560.

Applicants must submit official transcripts from their transferring program and postsecondary university.

Proof of English proficiency may be required on a case-by-case basis.
