Why study Arts Administration at Bishop’s?
The Arts Administration Program provides you with the knowledge, the tools and the connections to manage your artistic career or to become a leader in the arts sectors. Our program offers the perfect blend of courses in Arts Administration, Arts (fine arts, music, drama, film studies and public history and heritage) and Business, and includes six credits of experiential learning in and outside the campus.
Everything in the curriculum is designed with one goal in mind: to prepare you to lead a long, exciting and rewarding career in the art world. In addition, here at BU, you will be part of a passionate multidisciplinary community with plenty of hands-on opportunities.
B.A. Program Major in Arts Administration
Students enrolled in the Major in Arts Administration must successfully complete 75 credits of which 21 credits are Arts Administration courses, 27 credits are Business courses and 27 credits are from the student’s chosen concentration (Drama, Fine Arts, Film Studies, Music or Public History). Included in the Arts Administration requirements are the two practica: the internal one to be done on campus and the external one to be done off campus with an organization within Quebec, Canada or anywhere else in the world.

If your program was less than 8 months
- You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.
If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years
- We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.
For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.
If your program was 2 years or more
- We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.
If you completed more than 1 program
- You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.
Each of the programs you completed -
- must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- High scholastic achievement at the secondary, college, and/or university level, as applicable
- If your mother tongue is not English and you have not studied for at least three full years in English, you must submit TOEFL, IELTS, MELAB, or Cambridge Certificate (CPE or CAE) results.
