Advertising and Promotion (Ontario College Diploma)

If you have a passion for creativity and a desire to develop powerful advertising and promotional campaigns, this program is for you. We live in an age of digital transformation and disruption, one where advertisers are in a constant battle for consumer attention and ‘screen-time’. Advancements by ‘big tech’ companies will continue to influence how we work, shop, and communicate. To remain relevant, advertisers and brands must respond with powerful communications to create lasting, meaningful connections.

The Advertising and Promotion program prepares you with the knowledge, skills and experience for an exciting career in the advertising industry. You could launch a career at an advertising agency, research or production firm, or within a media company; the faculty will assist you in choosing a path aligned with your passion and skillset. You will gain experience as an account representative, creative production artist, and media planner working with actual clients for the campus agency – Collaboragency. Students explore creativity, conceptualizing and producing advertisements for all media forms. Whether you like to create, innovate, or execute ideas, you will have the opportunity to do it all in this program.

If your program was less than 8 months

You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.

If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years

We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

If your program was 2 years or more

We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

If you completed more than 1 program

You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

FOR INDIA

One of the following:

All India Senior School Certificated awarded by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Indian School Certificate awarded by Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
Year 10 and 12 State Board Exams
Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)/Intermediary Certificate/Statement of Marks

Please note: school record is not sufficient.

FOR BANGLADESH

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)/Intermediate Certificate in arts, science or commerce/certificate issued by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
General Certificate of Education (GCE) 0 Level. Requires a minimum of five academic subjects, including English, with a grade of C.

FOR NEPAL

Higher Secondary School Certificate/Proficiency Certificate/ Mark Sheets.

FOR SRILANKA

One of the following:

Sri Lankan General Certificate of Education (Advanced level) GCE A Level, results showing at least five subjects
passed with a minimum grade A, B or C.
Sri Lankan General Certificate of Education (Ordinary level) GCE O Level, showing at least five subjects passed with a minimum grade A, B, C and D (Distinction).
