Biology Major, BS

This degree emphasis will provide a solid foundation in biological sciences, anatomy, chemistry (including general, organic and biochemistry), genetics, molecular biology, physiology, physics and humanities, making it a great option for students looking to work in the biomedical area or those applying for professional schools such as medical schools or pharmacy schools.  This degree allows students to work toward their bachelor of science degree in biology while meeting the requirements to continue on to a post-graduate biomedical program.

Health-related occupations such as perfusion therapists, orthotic and prosthetics professionals, genetic counselor, biomedical engineer, etc.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
Students interested in biomedical sciences biology will gain a strong foundation in biological sciences, chemistry, and physics to prepare students for additional study within a specific field or to work in specific industries and laboratories.
We offer a variety of courses including: genetics, molecular biology, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, advanced cell biology, advanced human dissection, microbiology, pathogenic bacteriology, immunology, epidemiology, and histology as well as chemistry and physics courses.
Students have the opportunity to participate in internships related to a specific area of interest and research opportunities.
