Master of Laws
The Monash LLM is ideal for law graduates wanting to develop in-depth knowledge of a particular legal area, or those wanting to advance their professional expertise in a current area of practice. You will gain advanced professional skills and knowledge of law developments, practice, and scholarship of one or more areas of law.
The course offers nine specializations:

The Monash LLM offers a choice from a wide range of legal areas. You can focus on a specialized area or select from a broad range of electives for professional practice which will enable you to develop in-depth knowledge and advanced skills in areas of law and legal practice that suit your interests, skills, and career goals.
You will gain an understanding of law research methods and skills necessary to support law-related work and choose a program of study in which you plan and execute a major research-based project with a high level of personal autonomy and accountability.
Located at 555 Lonsdale Street, the city campus sits near the bustling intersection of Lonsdale and William Streets, home to the Supreme Court of Victoria, County Court of Victoria and Melbourne Magistrates' Court. It is nestled between Owen Dixon Chambers and the Office of Public Prosecutions Victoria and is a short stroll to the Commonwealth Law Courts and the Children's Court of Victoria. ?The Facility provides substantial space for both staff & students with high quality teaching facilities and quiet study areas. Student amenities include a library node, a multi-purpose lounge and a kitchen, all conducive to creative and independent learning.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Entry Level 1 (96 points to complete) Parts A, B, C, D
A bachelor's degree in law (or equivalent) from a non-Australian jurisdiction.
A letter from the Victorian Legal Admissions Board (VLAB) stipulating which areas of law are required to meet the academic eligibility requirements for admission to practice in Victoria. The letter from VLAB must be dated within 12 months of submitting your application for study.
Entry Level 2 (48 points to complete) Parts C and D
A JD or a bachelor honors degree in Law, or an equivalent qualification;
A bachelor degree in Law (or equivalent) plus either a graduate diploma in Law, a graduate certificate in Law, or an equivalent postgraduate qualification;
A bachelor degree in Law (or equivalent) plus sufficient relevant work-based or other learning to together constitute the equivalent of one of the above qualifications*
A bachelor's degree in Law (or equivalent) plus admission to practice as an Australian lawyer.
* For the purposes of satisfying these requirements, other learning may include but is not confined to, learning in the context of other non-law degrees.
