Enhance your engineering skill-set through a dual program including economics to prepare yourself for exciting and rewarding career opportunities.

This dual program will equip you with expertise in economics to enhance your engineering abilities, providing you with skills in investment decision-making and managing complex environmental and social priorities.

The engineering program is split into six main disciplines and a total on 18 speciality majors. The main streams of the program are chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, mining and software engineering.

Depending on your choice of major, the skills you'll develop under the engineering component of the program will allow you to work in a range of fields, from infrastructure and hospitals to energy and software.

With the economics program, you'll challenge your personal thinking and current ideas of people and the world, learning how economics is central to decision-making in business, markets, trade, government, health and more. You'll undertake a variety of courses that will build your knowledge about key economic principles, theories and tools, and study topics including microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics.

St Lucia

Situated on 114 hectares of Brisbane River-bound land, UQ’s main campus is a vibrant mix of majestic sandstone buildings and contemporary architecture, landscaped gardens and lakes. Fanning out from the heritage-listed Great Court, you’ll find modern teaching and research facilities, including laboratories, lecture theatres, and Queensland’s largest research library. The expansive grounds are also home to a variety of sporting facilities, museums, cafes, and those famous Jacaranda trees. Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Entry scores
All international applicants need to have successfully completed Queensland Year 12 (or an equivalent qualification) and meet the minimum entry score for this program.

Prerequisites
Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C); Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C); and one of Chemistry or Physics (Units 3 & 4, C)
Students without Specialist Mathematics and/or another high school prerequisite may be required to undertake preparatory courses beyond the 88 units for the program and may not be able to complete the program in the minimum time frame without overloading or undertaking summer study.
