Bachelors of Management Information Systems
In recent years, the use of information technologies in the business world, as well as in many other arenas, has been vastly expanding. Following these developments, the importance of interdisciplinary approaches and applications has been steadily increasing domestically and globally. The Management Information Systems (MIS) Program has been formed to meet workforce demands in this area and to educate people to conduct research in the field.
In this program, management and information technologies are taught in an interdisciplinary manner. The development and effective use of information systems to gain a competitive edge in the business world is a primary aim of the MIS program. To serve this purpose, computer science concepts (programming, web design, database management, etc.) and management concepts (economy, marketing, accounting, finance, etc.) are taught as core courses. Advanced courses, which serve to integrate these two fields, help students to grasp such systems as development, management information systems, e-business, and decision-making processes. Courses are supported with labs and projects that enable students to integrate theory with practice. Students entering this program are expected to have an interest in computer science and management. In order to successfully complete this program, students are required to take 131 credits and one long-term internship.
